Hand removal of roof foam, priced from the survey findings.
Quoted in writing once the survey is done. · Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat by arrangement
When the survey says the foam should go, we remove it by hand, cutting and scraping it away and vacuuming up the residue from slates, tiles, battens and rafters. Dust sheets go down first, respirators are worn throughout and the waste leaves with us. The written quote is based on roof size and foam type, and follows the survey.
Removal begins with dust sheets and protective equipment, then proceeds by hand. The foam is cut, scraped and lifted away from slates, tiles, battens and rafters, and the residue is vacuumed as the work goes on. Progress is steady rather than quick, because the roof covering and the timber must not be damaged in the process. All waste is taken away, and the roof void is left tidy.
The quote depends on the roof area, the foam type and how firmly it has bonded to the surface beneath. Closed-cell foam is generally harder to remove than open-cell. Access matters as well, along with the number of roof sections and the height of the void. We price from the survey measurements and findings, which is why a figure is never given over the phone before the roof has been seen.
Once the foam is cleared, the exposed timber is checked again, and fresh readings and photographs are added to your records. If any rafters or battens turn out to be damaged, we explain what we found and what repairs could involve before any further cost is agreed. The final paperwork gives you a before-and-after record to pass to a buyer, lender or surveyor.
